The wonderful folks at Lionhead have announced that the release date for the first Fable 2 expansion will also get an expansion. Due to technical issues, the expansion will be pushed back to late January 2009.

“Due to unexpected technical difficulties, the Fable II: Knothole Island expansion will not be available until late January 2009.  As a result, the Fable II, Knothole Island Download and Win, originally scheduled to take place December 22 – 23, 2008, has been temporarily suspended.  Please check back for updates.  In addition, you can still register for the Download & Win by downloading the free Fable II: Knothole Island registration gamerpic, or by registering via Xbox.com at www.xbox.com/fableIIknotholesweeps.  Registered participants will be notified using the contact information provided at time of registration with revised Download and Win Entry Period dates.”

Sony has announced that God of War 3 will be the final installment of the series. We are sad to see an end to the story, but it just proves that most good things do not last forever.

In comparison to God of War 2, the third iteration will have four times the texture resolution and enhanced dynamic lighting. You can also expect to fight more enemies at once which will certainly add to the greatness.

Hopeful plans for a new generation of the PSP can now be put to rest. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe president David Reeves clarifies:

“There are currently no plans for a PSP2. I go to Tokyo quite a lot and no one has referred to it - I think they have their hands full at the moment.”

“We just launched the PSP-3000 so we are still focused on this generation of the platform.”

If one thing is true, it is that the homebrew community thrives well within the Nintendo Wii. Despite Nintendo’s on going attempts to stop installation of the Homebrew Channel, it has officially hit 1.0 status.

Homebrew 1.0 brings a few new features which include bug fixes, multiple wii motes, the wii power button and more.

Harmonix’ Rock Band Community Zine has just released some interesting facts surrounding Rock Band’s DLC. The most interesting of all is the 28 million download mark obtained by all the collective DLC that has been released.

Quite a milestone for Harmonix, and certainly good news for those who can’t help but get the newest DLC.

Sony has announced today that Playstation Home will finally become an open beta tomorrow. In development for over almost two years, it is exciting to finally see an open Beta.

The open beta will give us some new features that existing Home “owners” will notice. A new plaza will be introduced and a new game called “Saucer Pop.”

Rockstar has noted some flaws within there newest street racer Midnight Club: Los Angeles. They have responded with an update for both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. These updates both Improve the AI making it dynamically adjust to the user’s skill level. The Xbox 360 update adds additional support for leaderboards. The leader boards will be used for tournaments on the Rockstar Games Social Club. Along side of those changes other features will include broader multi-player match searching, and upgraded streaming and performance.

SEGA Europe and SEGA of America has dropped something very interesting in our laps, a new website PlaySEGA. This new website, launched today allows you to,… well,… play SEGA games.

Although PlaySEGA does not include the original classics there are hundreds of new flash games to fill your time. Some incentives include achievements and collecting O rings. Socially you can customize your avatar and create your own “escape” which really means dropping some 2D household items onto an interchangeable home-ish background.
