Play For Free: Doom, Heretic & Hexen
You probably don’t spend a lot of time playing browser-based games in Flash. Today, you will.
Some crazy awesome guy who is some sort of Flash genius has ported three classic FPS titles to a single Flash app. With only a few seconds of load time and a click of the mouse, Doom, Hexen and Heretic are available for you to play in all their full-blown glory in any web browser. Every level, every chapter, every last beastly gunshot, entirely for free.
The games are rendered well and are every bit as playable as the originals. You could definitely waste a lot of time over the next few days in a nostalgic stupor while you frag the bijeezus out of all sorts of hellish monsters. These games never get old and have served as inspirations for hundreds of titles that have followed them over the years. We owe them the honor of being revisited now and again as time continues to move forward.
Go play, kids. Go play. Follow this link and walk in a 1993 wonderland.
