9 Games To Get Excited For In 2009
Last year must have been a record setting year for how many A list game titles can be shoved down our throat. With releases from Wii Fit and Halo 3 to Little Big Planet we were given little reason to keep our little wallets shut. If you are one of the few who survived the downpour of awesome games, it is time to buy a new shelf and take a look at what is to come in 2009.
God of War 3 (PS3)
Every God of War fan should be picking this up as it may be the last installment of the series. Why should you watch for GOW 3? Who doesn’t like playing an over sized dude with only one thing on his mind, vengeance. Get ready for chaos.
Halo Wars (X360)
As part of the Halo series, Halo Wars needs little discussion on why it you will need to pick it up. Expect the online play to be spectacular as this game could spark many more console based RTS games.
StarCraft 2 (PC)
StarCraft is back and ready to be the “ultimate competitive real-time strategy game.” This is another highly anticipated game which requires little incentive to get on your pre-order list.
Final Fantasy XIII (X360, PS3)
There certainly is a reason why Final Fantasy is one of the most popular console based RPGs in the world. Final Fantasy 13 comes to Japan this year, but North Americans will have to wait until 2010.
Resident Evil 5 (X360, PS3)
The original Resident Evil changed the way games were played. If you have already survived the first 4 then it is time to grab the demo to get a small taste of Resident Evil 5.
Uncharted 2 (PS3)
Uncharted set a new standard for action adventure games, and we can’t wait for the sequel. Get ready to take Nate, a modernized Indiana Jones, on some new adventures.
Alan Wake (Xbox 360, PC)
From the creators of Max Payne comes a new game called Alan Wake. This game promises a very unique story line to keep you on the edge of your seat.
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin (X360, PS3, PC)
Sick of horror games yet? We aren’t. That’s why FEAR 2 makes our list. Turn your lights off and pop this game in, you won’t be disappointed.
Wii Sports Resort (Wii)
It is time to take a break from Yoga and put Wii Fit aside. From Disc Dog and Wave Racing to Sword fighting, Wii Sports Resort brings a new set of games to put your workouts to test.

There’s lots on that list to get excited about.
I tried the demo on FEAR 2 and I enjoyed it enough that I’ll likely get the game at some point.
I’m really looking forward to GOW3, Starcraft 2, Uncharted 2 and FFXIII.
Resident Evil 5 is going to be crazy
cant wait for re5 yay!!!
i think you forgot D3. a lot of ppl are looking forward to that
I would have replaced Halo Wars and F.E.A.R. 2 easily with SFIV and MadWorld who both just also got released as well. I don’t know any who anticipated F.E.A.R. 2, especially against other FPSs such as Bioshock 2 and CoD: Modern Warfare 2. Final Fantasy 13 is not coming out this year.
