The Hardest Game of All Time
The question was first posed on our Twitter pages over the past few days, and now it is being brought to you. It is a goal of mine to create a list of the hardest video games of all time, and find the one deserved of the “Hardest Game of All Time” title.
The list will be epic in size; a tribute to all the obscenities shouted, controllers thrown through television sets, blisters worn into thumbs and hours of game time spent playing the same damn levels over and over a million times.
When the Twitterverse was asked, some of the responses that came in included:
Final Fantasy VII
Pac-Man
Bugs Bunny’s Crazy Castle
Silver Surfer
Mega Man 9
Deadly Duck
Robocop vs Terminator
The poll is open to any game on any console. It really just has to have been created at some point in time and played by people – not very difficult credentials to meet.
So please, your feedback, if you will. I want to know what games made you cry. I want to know what games had you taking them out to the back yard to bury under three feet of earth. I want to know what games made you pull your orange Duck Hunt Zapper gun out from under the couch and put it in your mouth, hoping for your life to turn black for a single frame.

Ninja Gaiden 3 (NES). That game was so difficult that I was forced to conclude that anyone who had any part in programming it was an asshole. The game itself? Also an asshole.
Oh, the memories! That game was awesome.
…Silver Surfer was a close second though…
Heh – I’m still on Disk 1 of FF7.
I’m going to say that the hardest game (or games) of all time are the Mega Man games. I never seem to get very far in them.
Yeah, I personally have to throw my votes to Mega Man titles or Silver Surfer. Both make me cry.
