Final Fantasy XIII – Only One Language?
One of the biggest debates on the internet this week is about FFXIII. Kotaku let everyone know that Final Fantasy XIII may be created with only one audio track – English.
This is because the game is to be released on both PS3 and Xbox360. The PS3 has Blu-Ray discs, which would boast enough disc space for multiple audio tracks. The Xbox360 DVDs are a different story, and only one audio track will fit. With those facts, they are considering going with the English dub as opposed to the original Japanese recordings for the US release.
Final Fantasy XIII producer Yoshinori Kitase said, “At the moment we’re thinking of releasing the voice in English only. Are there many people who would like to play with Japanese voices?”
And thus birthed the debate. We might as well get our own going here. What do you think? English or Japanese?

I wouldn’t care either way. I think it would be more original if the actual spoken language was Japanese with english subtitles, but I would want all the rest of the game (Menus, choices, texts etc.) to be in english.
It’s a toss up for me, either would suffice in the long run.
Japanese of course. What ruined X and especially XII was the voice-acting. The japanese actors are brilliant. I’m not sure why, but probably because they actually take it seriously. I will be very disappointed if I have to endure XIII in English.
