Call of Duty in Vietnam?
You’ve been to World War II more times than you can count. Dust off your CCR records, unbox your Stars and Stripes collection and dangle a peace sign from your neck; an anonymous source has informed all the fancy gaming journalists that the next Call of Duty title may take place in Vietnam. Is that you, John Wayne?
Please paint a big bad badge of RUMOR across that information, as there is no confirmable announcement of such a thing. However, that doesn’t mean it isn’t both likely and reasonable. Treyarch is mentioned as the developer; logical as Infinity Ward is currently working on the second title in the Modern Warfare line. Treyarch was formerly responsible for World at War, the most recent game in the series.
The anonymous source cites Activision as seeking licenses for Cuban, Soviet Union and African music, readying the soundtrack for a Vietnam or general Cold War game.
Plenty of requests for more information are pending with Activision – now it’s just up to us to wait and see if they get answered. Start working on your best R. Lee Ermey impression just in case it proves true.
