The Chronicles of Spellborn Launches

Are you ADDICTED to the fascinating worlds and never-ending adventures created by online MMOs? If so, Acclaim is ready to provide you with a brand new combat-laden treat, The Chronicles of Spellborn, which launched today. Time to get off your dull Linden couch and stop battling beasts o’er the hills of Azeroth. You’re going to a post-apocalyptic fantasy setting where a vast adventure unfolds… at least that’s how they put it.

The game features a real-time combat system and bills itself as one of the most innovative MMORPG games on the market. The combat system is unique from what you’ve played before in structure, and things like positioning really have an impact on the effectiveness of the battle. It is designed to increase effectiveness based on tactical choices, and utilizes actual player skill instead of luck when doling out the hurt, unlike most RPGs with formula-based attack structures. You learn skills, combos, make an unlimited number of friends, and from what the pictures on the site show, the game looks brilliant.

Acclaim is offering a free two-week premium subscription for every player starting today, in commemoration of the launch. This is good through May 7th, at which point the membership will run $14.99 per month – not a terrible price. All in all, this gives everyone a lot of opportunity to play before paying. If you are into online MMORPG titles, this is sure to be worth checking out.

There are a load of screenshots available on the Chronicles of Spellborn site, as well as further explanation of the story and gameplay. Check it out here and get in your free trial while you can.

Well any game who says this is worth a try for me. Hopefully others might give it a try to.
