Lego: Rock Band Confirmed by Harmonix
This morning, a press release from Harmonix announced that Lego: Rock Band is no longer a silly idea blowing around in the breeze of possibility. It’s the real thing. Now, you’ll have the opportunity to “Build a Band and Rock the Universe” as the hard, yellow rock star you’ve always dreamed of being.

TT Games will be responsible for developing the title along with LEGO, Harmonix and MTV Games. The game will take on a family-friendly appeal, featuring tamer songs safe for the innocent ears of modern public school youth. Young people favorites like Carl Douglas’s “Kung Fu Fighting” and actual young people favorites like Good Charlotte’s “Boys and Girls” are to be part of the tracks included.
You’ll be able to pop on and off all sorts of gear and equipment, and will still be responsible for hiring roadies, crew, and the other things you’re used to in a Rock Band title. Couple that with the family and social appeal the LEGO series of games is known for, and it’s a combination of two very successful genres of video gaming. People really dig these LEGO titles, so it’ll certainly be a hit with audiences.
Just watch out for corrosive chemicals or plastic-eating venereal diseases while you’re out on the road.

That is awesome! I know at least one person who will be buying this one.
LOL Matt… You??
Maybe
I hope this isn’t the only LEGO game released this year. It sounds like an interesting concept but I’m itching for some more “classic” LEGO gameplay.
Like… LEGO X-Men?
Hey, I’d be happy with LEGO Harry Potter (there’s already LEGO sets based on the Harry Potter series).
But LEGO X-Men sounds cool too. I would say a DC IP would be more likely though. I remember TT having some deal with Warner Brothers that basically opened up any WB IP to possible LEGO treatment.
LEGO Potter would be tops. I second that.
