Ghostbusters: The Video Game – Videos
Everyone’s been talking about the Ghostbusters game. I mean, come on – the original cast is involved! Even Dan Aykroyd, that crazy guy who does seven-minute long jibberish promotional videos for vodka that comes in a skull-shaped bottle!
Some recent new videos have come out showcasing the title, and I’d like to embed them for you here. For those of you who will be playing the title on the Xbox360 or PS3, you’ll want to watch the video below:
It’s short and sweet, but oh so tasty. The graphics actually look pretty slick, and come on, it’s got Dan Aykroyd! And Alyssa Milano!
For those of you who will be playing on the Wii, your experience will be reflected by the video below:
It’s funny how much different the Wii version looks from the more powerful consoles. It’s not necessarily worse, just different. It’s more artificial and animated looking, which may or may not have any effect on the gameplay.
The game, to my surprise, actually looks pretty good. I originally expected it to be some silly project made knowing that 20 years of campy nostalgia would lead to decent sales, regardless of how crappy the project ended up being. Shock me sideways, that’s probably still true, but it looks like the game might end up being awesome as well. It looks like it’ll be funny, frightening, and jolly good fun – and hey, those happen to be the ingredients for success with this title.
On a side note, I used to look like a child version of Egon Spengler in middle school. It’s all in the vertical hair.

I don’t think I’ve ever thought the game would be a campy money grab. I’ve had confidence in it ever since I found out the original creators (specifically Akroyd and Ramis) were working on the project.
This little bit I’ve seen in the video just enhances that feeling for me. I don’t know if it’s going to be a blockbuster type of game but I believe it’ll be fun and a decent buy.
Looking forward to it.
