FFXIII officially delayed in North America, surprising no one
Well, it had to happen sooner or later.
In an interview with Reuters yesterday, Square-Enix head honcho Yoichi Wada confirmed what we’ve all been fearing for months now: another delay to the already distant release date for the PS3 and Xbox 360’s Final Fantasy XIII. In North America, anyway.
While FFXIII, a for-the-moment PS3 exclusive in Japan, will ship this year in the East, Western gamers will have to wait until April 2010, at least, to get their hands on the next hotly anticipated installment in the venerable series, according to Square-Enix’s president.
However, looking back at how long it took for Final Fantasy XII to finally hit store shelves, (think about five years) another delay coming down the pipe may not be out of the question. Will FFXIII make its now-projected April ‘10 Western debut? Only time will tell.
