New PS3 Firmware Released, Adds Full Screen Flash
While the list of items that was added with the newest release of the PS3 firmware wasn’t exactly huge by any means, it does add something that has been long awaited since the release of Flash support in the browser.
Available now for your downloading pleasure is the 2.53 firmware. Sure, it’s a little later than the leaked information from the Playstation website said (it suggested it would drop on the 26th of November), but the new update adds full screen flash video, as well as “improving the way the Flash Player works with the internet browser”.
For those of us who like to watch Hulu on our PS3s, this is a welcomed addition. You can now catch up on your favorite episodes of your favorite shows, or play a few free flash games in all of the full screen glory. This appears to be the only real change in the firmware, but leave a comment if you find something else new/changed.
