Valve’s Steam Cloud to launch this Week
Valve’s new free service, Steam Cloud, will finally be launching this week. This new free service allows users to store application data online.
Initially you will be able to store keyboard, mouse and gamepad configurations which will be retrievable from any PC loaded with Steam. Sprays will also be accessible for Team Fortress 2. The service does have plans for expansion and with features like accessing your game saves.
This will overcome the dreaded PC crashes or formatting that PC gamers often experience. Not quite revolutionary, but a certainly nice to have.

I am looking forward to this. While it’s only a minor inconvenience, having configs and saves accessible via Steam is nice. Especially for people who format often or use multiple computers. Once of the best features of Steam is the ability to play all your steam games on any computer you want. Having your config and savegames follow you around just adds to that feature.
