Left 4 Dead coming to PS3 thanks to EA

The latest issue of Official Playstation Magazine gave PS3 owners the good news that Left 4 Dead is in fact coming to the PS3.
As you may know Gabe Newell, managing directory of game development at Valve, thinks it is “a waste of everybody’s time” to be porting to the PS3. For this reason Electronic Arts “will be taking on development duties in-house,” says OPM.
I have to say im with valve…
Well, considering that according to EA’s latest financials the PS3 is making them the most money, I’m going to have to disagree with both Dace & valve.
Seems to me if the PS3 is making both EA & Activision the most money then it makes sense to develop more games for it

I agree with Kinadian, Valve (for some reason) does not like the PS3 and everyone knows it. This will be another Team Fortress 2 situation where Valve won’t have anything to do with the PS3 version and EA will probably screw the port up.
….you might want to prove to me that PS3 is helpng EA sales…because everytime i see the top sellers list, the 360 version always sells more, and 360 has alot more dedicated gamers that play the game online and download DLC. Thats why Vavle doesnt like PS3, because their gamers dont support.

Keep in mind that things may have changed over time as this was dated in May of 2008.
That’s not the exact article I saw but it covers the same thing.
And like Matt said, that’s from earlier this year. A lot can change in the 5 or 6 months since the data was gathered.
But the end result is that we have valve putting the hate on the PS3 and we have EA stating that the PS3 will be (and has been) its main development platform.
I look forward to the day when there is a unified console platform and we can be rid of this multi-platform and exclusive crap. I think the battlefield of the console wars should be on hardware stability and feature set – not software support.
i dont really care if u dont want it to come out on ps3 so i’ll let u xboxers bitch it out between ur self i just wont to know wen is it out
